Kathmandu— The Red Cross Society of China has donated 2,000 body bags worth Rs. 2.2 million to Nepal's National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) to support ongoing disaster response efforts in the country. The goods arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport on August 31st. Additionally, the Chinese Red Cross Society contributed $200,000 to Nepal’s Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund.
Humanitarian Assistance
The donation of body bags and financial aid from China is part of a broader humanitarian effort aimed at supporting Nepal in its disaster response initiatives. The Embassy of China in Kathmandu highlighted that the assistance is expected to bolster Nepal’s ongoing relief operations.
Diplomatic Exchange
Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Zhang Maoming met with Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle on Sunday to hand over the monetary contribution from China. This diplomatic gesture underscores the bilateral cooperation between China and Nepal in times of crisis.
