Kathmandu— Prime Minister Balendra Shah announced that the Government of Nepal has raised financial aid through the Prime Minister's Disaster Rescue and Relief Fund for victims of the devastating flash flood in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river systems on August 26. By Wednesday, Rs 7 billion 885 million 7 thousand 217 had been deposited into the fund, with an additional USD 6 million 141 thousand 702 also contributed.

Financial Support for Victims

Just yesterday, Rs 1 billion was released from the relief fund to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority. From this amount, Rs 67 million 500 thousand has already been distributed to 15 flood-affected municipalities in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, and Tanahun.

Current Fund Status

The Prime Minister's Disaster Rescue and Relief Fund currently holds a balance of Rs 6 billion 885 million 7 thousand 217 after the recent disbursements. The fund continues to receive contributions from various sources, including international donations.
