Kathmandu November 13 .In a bid to boost local tourism, a view tower has been constructed at Galekhamkot of Byas municipality-6 in Tanahu district. Expected to aid in Visit Nepal 2020, the view tower can accommodate more than 20 viewers at a time. Byas municipality-6 Chair Suryabhakta Bhandari informed that view tower is built at 2,207 metre above the sea level and is 3-storyed. Constructed at the cost of Rs 1.5 million, the new structure is expected to offer an aerial view of Galekhamkot as well as Fewa Lake, Machapuchhre, Dhawalagiri, Annapurna, Manaslu among other Himalayan range. Galekhamkot, which was once the kingdom of Chakradhari Kings during the time when Nepal was divided into 22 and 24 principalities, is a religious tourist spot. A guest house has been constructed in Galekhamkot to house the tourists. Local Shivaraj Kafle shared that the Kot Bhairav Temple here sees a special ceremony during the Dashain. The weapons used by then rulers are still kept safely in the Temple here.
