Kathmandu December 31 .Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Gokul Prasad Banskota, has said a person from the ruling party itself would become the Parliament Speaker. Minister Banskota, who is also the government spokesman, said this while speaking in a press conference organized by Press Organization Kanchanpur here this morning. “There are people in the ruling party itself who can become the Speaker. Perhaps, the top level leaders of the ruling party have agreed on this post,” he said, adding that the topic of who will become the Parliament Speaker would be settled soon. The government spokesman said that the government was leading the country ahead towards progress by exploring the possibilities, claiming that the delays seen in big development projects were also removed. “Prosperity is the national agenda. We are moving forward in the reconstruction and revival after entering the new age,” he said, referring to the political stability that the country has achieved after the political change. Minister Banskota said the government has allocated budget for upgrading the province-level hospital, and construction of the Mid-hill highway and motorable road up to Byas of Darchula district in the Farwest State. He reiterated that all three tiers of the government – local, state and federal – were busy in enacting laws. Referring to the incident of rape and subsequent killing of 13-year-old girl Nirmala Panta of Bhimdatta municipality-2, the government spokesman vowed that the government would bring the culprits of this heinous crime to book.
