The Chinese aircraft of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has arrived in Nepal with medical supplies. The aircraft carrying medical supplies landed at Tribhuvan International Airport from Beijing.
According to the source related to Tribhuvan International Airport, the Chinese military plane brought 4.5 tons of medical supplies from Chhendu, China. These medical equipments include surgical N-95 masks, PPEs, gloves, boots, thermals, and so on. Devendra KC, General Manager of the airport, has informed that the Chinese aircraft returned after handing over the medical supplies for the Nepal Army.
The Chinese government had provided medical supplies to the Nepal Army in earlier days as well. At present, Himalayan Airlines is bringing essential health supplies from destinations including Beijing, Guangzhou and Changsha in China. This Himalayan Airlines, is conducted on the joint venture of Nepal Airlines Corporation, Nepal’s private sectors, and China itself.
In a brief program of Nepal Army, Ambassador Hou says it is a neighboring country’s responsibility to assist the Nepalese government for the battle against the COVID-19 Pandemic. The current Chief of Army Staff, General Purna Chandra Thapa has expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for providing medical supplies to the Nepal Army in difficult circumstances.
