– Two people have gone missing in the Sunkoshi river at Bhumlu rural municipality-8 of Kavrepalanchok district. They fell into the river after the Bolero jeep they were travelling in met with an accident on Wednesday, police said.
The jeep (registration plate Ba 16 Cha 8838) carrying poultry feed and cement was going towards Saping from Dolalghat at the time of the accident.
The accident occurred as the back wheels of the vehicle suddenly fell off the edge of the road leading to the tilting of the vehicle due to which two of the people on the vehicle were thrown into the river, the District Police Office Kavrepalanchok stated.
Those who have gone missing are 26-year-old Ashok Giri of Bhumlu rural municipality-1 and around 28-year-old Bhola Mahat of Bhumlu rural municipality-4. Sanu Maya Giri of the same rural municipality who was also on board the jeep has a broken left hand in the mishap. She is being treated at the Scheer Memorial Hospital in Banepa. Police has taken the driver under control for investigation.
