Seven Madhesh-Centric Parties Unite to Launch the ‘Federal Democratic Front’

Kathmandu, April 3 – In a fiery move to champion the rights and dreams of the Madhesh region, seven Tarai-Madhesh-centric political parties have banded together to unveil the sizzling new ‘Federal Democratic Front,’ promising to shake up Nepal’s political landscape and tackle the region’s long-standing issues head-on.

The electrifying announcement came during a high-energy event in Baneshwor, Kathmandu, where the Janmat Party, JSP Nepal, LUSP Nepal, Citizens’ Liberation Party, National Liberation Party, People’s Progressive Party, and TMLP stood united, igniting the stage with their bold vision. This powerhouse alliance is set to fight for an equitable and just system that puts Madhesh front and center.

The front’s mission? To safeguard and turbocharge the Federal Democratic Republic, push for provinces named and shaped by identity and capability, and ensure federalism roars to life by carving out crystal-clear roles for federal and provincial governments. A press release dropped during the event turned up the heat, pledging a fair split of revenue and resources, turbocharging provinces to deliver top-notch state services, and giving local governance a sexy upgrade by placing it under provincial control—all to make the Federal Democratic Republic shine brighter than ever.

But the Front isn’t stopping there. They’re demanding immediate action on the 22-point, 8-point, and 11-point agreements struck between the Government of Nepal and past agitators, plus every other deal inked with political groups. They’re also calling for the Lal Commission report to be unleashed without delay and for the release of prisoners locked up during the People’s Movement, Madhesh Uprising, Tharuhat, Limbuwan, and other fiery struggles—sending a clear message that they mean business.
