Kathmandu— The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies in Nepal has announced that the supply of liquefied petroleum gas (LP gas) will return to normal within a few days. The ministry urged consumers not to hoard cooking gas due to rumors and false information, emphasizing the importance of purchasing only what is needed.

Government Efforts to Stabilize LP Gas Supply

Ministry spokesperson Netra Prasad Subedi stated that the import and distribution of LP gas are currently higher than regular demand levels and exceed those from the same period last year. The ministry is working closely with stakeholders, including the Nepal Oil Corporation and LP gas industries, to implement reforms aimed at ensuring transparency and predictability in the supply chain.

The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection has also stepped up market monitoring efforts to prevent artificial shortages and black market activities.
