BJP Accuses Rahul Gandhi of Stalling Parliament

Kathmandu— BJP National Spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia accused Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi of disrupting Parliament proceedings to evade discussion about the BJP-led government's success in repatriating fugitives from abroad. According to Bhatia, the government has brought back 274 fugitives over seven years, a feat that highlights the difference between current and past administrations.

BJP Claims Congress' Lack of Political Will

Gaurav Bhatia emphasized during a press conference on Wednesday that the BJP-led government has successfully repatriated fugitives from 36 countries since 2019, averaging around 40 per year. He argued this demonstrates the Modi administration's commitment to national interest and contrasted it with what he described as Rahul Gandhi’s reluctance to engage in parliamentary debates.

Bhatia highlighted that nearly Rs 19,000 crore has been recovered from these fugitives, a figure he attributes to effective governance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He criticized the Congress for lacking both political will and technological capability during their tenure to achieve similar results.

Criticism of Rahul Gandhi's Leadership

Bhatia accused Rahul Gandhi of neglecting his duties as Leader of the Opposition by avoiding parliamentary sessions while making 'absurd' statements against Prime Minister Modi and the RSS. He argued that it is the responsibility of the LoP to engage in debates and raise issues concerning public interest, but instead, Gandhi shies away from these responsibilities.

Bhatia also criticized Rahul Gandhi for his alleged fear of discussing India's democracy on foreign soil, suggesting a 'poisonous mindset' among opposition leaders.

Celebration of Article 370 Abrogation

Marking seven years since the abrogation of Article 370, Bhatia praised Union Home Minister Amit Shah for ensuring its implementation. He termed it a 'historic' decision that honors the spirit of the Constitution and credited Shah with demonstrating the will of Sardar Patel in this regard.
