Trump Compares U.S. Actions in Iran to Venezuela, Emphasizes No Nuclear Deal

Kathmandu— US President Donald Trump compared the country's approach towards Iran to its handling of Venezuela, stating that while he prefers a diplomatic resolution, the United States will not tolerate Iran developing nuclear weapons. Speaking at an event in Las Vegas, Trump detailed how recent military actions have weakened Iran and expressed willingness for talks.

Military Actions and Diplomatic Openness

Trump highlighted that the US had conducted a brief but decisive operation against Venezuela, which he termed as a '48-minute war,' emphasizing that such tactics were now being applied to Iran. He claimed that despite planning for significant military operations against Iran, talks have since commenced after Iranian officials reached out seeking dialogue.

'They respect us… No other president has done what should have been done a long time ago because Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon,' Trump said, reiterating his stance on preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear capabilities.

Engagement with Venezuela

In addition to discussing Iran, Trump praised the work of US immigration authorities and their efforts against Venezuelan gangs like Tren de Aragua. He also noted positive developments in relations with Venezuela, including increased oil imports from the country.

'These guys, what they do when they have to get Tren de Aragua from Venezuela… But now, I love Venezuela. We are getting a lot of oil from Venezuela, and we're getting along great with them,' Trump said.
