Kathmandu— Amid ongoing protests over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations, Jharkhand students have announced plans to blockade the state's legislative assembly on August 10. The protesters demand the cancellation of exams conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and other agencies, as well as a comprehensive investigation into the issues.

Students Demand Cancellation and Investigation

Radhe Kumar, a protest leader, told ANI that the decision to blockade the Legislative Assembly was taken after government officials initiated contact with agitating students. The protesters are demanding the cancellation of JPSC and JSSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examinations conducted by TSR Data Processing Private Limited (TDPL). They also seek an independent investigation into these exams, followed by structural reforms in the recruitment process.

Kumar emphasized that the ongoing agitation would continue until their demands were addressed. He stated, “It has been 26 years since Jharkhand was created, and throughout these 26 years, students have faced injustice and suppression.”

Government Forms Ministerial Team for Talks

In response to the protests, State Minister Radhakrishna Kishore announced that a team of cabinet ministers has been formed to discuss issues with student representatives. The minister stated that the government is committed to addressing the welfare and justice concerns of Jharkhand's youth.

Kishore said, “The message is clear: the government is committed to the welfare of the state’s youth and students, and to ensuring that they receive justice.” He appealed to the protesters to begin talks with the government as soon as possible.
