Trump Rejects Reports of US Munitions Depletion in Iran Conflict

Kathmandu— President Donald Trump has dismissed reports suggesting the United States is running low on critical munitions during its conflict with Iran, asserting that the country's supplies remain abundant. He warned that those leaking information about depleted military inventories would be prosecuted and could face long prison sentences.

Trump's Rejection of Depletion Reports

In response to a CNN report citing concerns from US military commanders over critically low stockpiles of certain munitions, particularly air defense interceptors, Trump took to Truth Social to refute the claims. He stated that the U.S. has 'massive amounts' of munitions and is actively manufacturing more as needed. Defense companies are reportedly building a record number of plants and factories in the country's history.

'The leakers of these treasonous statements are being hunted down,' Trump warned, adding that those responsible would face long-term jail sentences.

Details on Munitions Depletion

CNN reported that since the start of the conflict with Iran, the US military has used a significant portion of its interceptors for key missile defense systems. According to sources familiar with the matter, nearly 80% of Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missiles and around half of Patriot interceptors have been depleted compared to pre-war levels.

The Center for Strategic and International Studies estimated that before the war began, the U.S. had approximately 452 THAAD missiles and around 2,200 Patriot interceptors of the most modern variants in its stockpile.
