China Takes Countermeasures Against Six U.S. Entities Over ‘Forced Labor’ Claims

ABC NEWS

Kathmandu— On Wednesday, China's Ministry of Commerce announced countermeasures against six U.S. entities, including Applied DNA Sciences, in reaction to the United States imposing sanctions on several Chinese firms based on so-called 'forced labor' claims. The measures took effect immediately and were described by the ministry as a necessary response to violations of international law and norms.

Chinese Ministry's Response

The decision was made in direct response to U.S. sanctions targeting Chinese companies under allegations of forced labor practices, according to China’s Ministry of Commerce. The ministry stated that these actions by the United States seriously contravene international law and undermine basic norms of international relations.

Furthermore, the ministry emphasized that such measures gravely harm China's sovereignty, security, and developmental interests.
