Kathmandu— Three Pakistani nationals were killed and one injured after an attack on a commercial vessel in the Red Sea, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced Wednesday. The incident has prompted strong condemnation from Islamabad, which labeled the Houthi attack a violation of international law and a threat to maritime security. Details surrounding the specific vessel involved and circumstances of the attack remain limited at this time.

Condemnation From Pakistan

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar strongly condemned the Houthi attack, describing it as endangering innocent lives and posing a serious threat to freedom of navigation. He voiced these concerns in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The minister further stated that such attacks also jeopardize maritime security and the safety of commercial shipping within the critical Red Sea corridor.

Casualties Confirmed

According to Dar’s statement, at least three Pakistani nationals were killed during the incident. In addition to the fatalities, one other citizen sustained injuries. No further information regarding their identities or the nature of their work on the vessel was immediately available.

Further details are expected as investigations into the attack continue.
