Gaza Hospitals Face Critical Oxygen Shortages Amid Ongoing Conflict

ABC NEWS
८ भदौ २०८३, सोमबार   १० : ४५   बजे

Kathmandu— Hospitals across Gaza are facing critical shortages of medical oxygen, threatening the lives of patients – particularly premature babies and those requiring intensive care – as Israel continues military operations and restricts the delivery of vital supplies. Oxygen stations are operating at drastically reduced capacity, pushing the healthcare system to the brink of collapse and creating a desperate situation for both patients and medical staff.

Healthcare System Under Strain

Gaza’s hospitals are struggling with severely limited oxygen supplies due to ongoing Israeli attacks and obstructions preventing the entry of necessary resources. The shortages have created an extremely precarious environment, particularly for vulnerable individuals who rely on a constant supply of oxygen to survive.

The reduced capacity of oxygen stations is directly impacting patient care, placing premature babies and critically ill patients in immediate danger.

Critical Patient Vulnerability

Premature babies and those with critical illnesses are especially at risk due to the dwindling oxygen reserves. The lack of sufficient oxygen threatens their ability to survive, creating a dire situation for both patients and medical personnel working under immense pressure.

The healthcare system in Gaza remains on the verge of collapse as shortages continue and conflict persists.
