Kathmandu— The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has distributed relief materials, including 3000 items of clothing and 50 solar lights, to approximately 400 children temporarily housed in Gosainkunda, Uttargaya, and Kalika rural municipalities in Rasuwa. The distribution took place on Sunday with support from NRNA China, as part of ongoing relief efforts following recent floods.

Relief Distribution Details

A team led by NRNA China Vice-President Pradeep Nepal traveled to Rasuwa and distributed the relief materials to affected children. The association stated that these items were provided to meet immediate needs, following previous distributions of Rs. 5 million worth of relief materials in Nuwakot over the past two days.

Assessment and Future Strategy

The NRNA has been in contact with local residents and concerned individuals in flood-affected areas including Thuman, Uttargaya, Gosainkunda in Rasuwa, as well as Aankhutaar, Trishuli Bazaar, and Shole in Nuwakot. Based on the information gathered, they have formulated a strategy for future relief, rehabilitation, and support to address both immediate and long-term needs.

Funding and Transparency

The NRNA has received commitments for assistance worth Rs. 48.27 million under its relief campaign. Collected funds will be deposited into the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund after providing relief and humanitarian aid, with transparent details of collected assistance to be made public through various National Coordination Councils (NCCs).

Health Assistance

Alongside relief efforts, NRNA continues to provide health and medical assistance. A team led by Dr Sanjeev Sapkota will travel to Nuwakot on Monday to conduct health check-ups and offer necessary medical services. Arrangements have been made to refer patients requiring further treatment to relevant health institutions.
