Kathmandu— On Saturday, a small tourist plane en route to see the famous Nazca Lines in southern Peru crashed near Pueblo Viejo, killing all 13 people aboard. Police Major Jorge Andrade confirmed that eleven passengers and two crew members perished with no survivors reported as rescue efforts continue at the crash site.
Fatal Crash Near Nazca
The tragic incident occurred in Pueblo Viejo, approximately six kilometers from the city of Nazca and twelve kilometers away from the renowned Nazca Lines archaeological site. According to local authorities, the small aircraft was carrying tourists who were scheduled for a sightseeing flight over the ancient geoglyphs.
Police Major Jorge Andrade provided an update at the crash site, stating that four bodies had been recovered so far but emphasized that given the severity of the accident, there are no survivors. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
