Kathmandu— Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), accused Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday of making laws to protect himself from citizens. This allegation came as the government scrutinizes social media giant Meta and its handling of content related to Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) and deepfake content.

Kejriwal's Allegations

In a post on X, Kejriwal wrote that the Prime Minister is 'now fighting his own citizens' and making laws to protect himself from them. He also alleged that even Modi’s former supporters are turning against him due to issues such as paper leaks and E20 fuel.

Meta's Apology

Sources reported that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg had apologized to the Indian government over the temporary removal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Facebook video. The apology came amid concerns about CSAM, deepfake content, and operational errors on the platform.

Meta Meeting with Government

A high-level Meta delegation led by Chief Global Affairs Officer Joel Kaplan met Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) Secretary S. Krishnan to explain the erroneous removal of Modi's video from Facebook. The meeting followed demands for an 'unqualified apology' from Zuckerberg over the incident.
