Kathmandu— Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been granted permission by the administration to proceed with his 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' event scheduled for August 8 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The event was initially threatened when KP College revoked its earlier approval due to academic concerns and a High Court order. Despite these hurdles, Gandhi plans to continue raising awareness about student protests against fee hikes and seat cuts at Allahabad University.
Event Approval Process
The 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' event faced uncertainty when KP College's management withdrew permission for the use of its sports ground, citing academic concerns and a High Court order. In a letter to the City Congress Committee President in Prayagraj, Chaudhary Jitendra Nath Singh, Acting President of Kayasth Pathshala, stated that the decision was made following inputs from the college principal and the Allahabad High Court's directive dated August 14, 2025. The management also informed the Congress to collect their deposited amount from the office.
Despite initial setbacks, Rahul Gandhi is set to proceed with his event in Prayagraj on August 8.
