Kathmandu— The rescue operations following the devastating flash flood that hit Bhotekoshi on August 26 continue to make progress. As of today, a total of 10,541 individuals have been rescued from the affected area, while 4,247 people remain unaccounted for. The disaster has resulted in 903 casualties and 267 injuries, with six surgical medical teams working on-site to provide aid.

Rescue Efforts

The rescue operations have seen significant involvement from various security forces. A total of 20,819 personnel are engaged in search and rescue activities, including 7,894 from the Nepal Police, 8,722 from the Nepali Army, and 4,203 from the Armed Police Force.

Casualties and Injuries

The flash flood has resulted in a tragic loss of life with 903 casualties. Among the injured, 156 have been discharged from hospitals, while medical teams continue to treat others on-site.
