Kathmandu— Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim province Khagaraj Bhatta has directed security agencies to take necessary initiatives for searching, rescuing, and rehabilitating citizens who have gone missing following devastating flash floods in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers. The directive was issued during a meeting held at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers on September 1.

Search and Rescue Operations

Chief Minister Bhatta instructed the security agencies to ensure proper coordination to make search and rescue operations more effective. He emphasized adopting all possible measures and speeding up efforts to locate missing individuals in the affected areas.

Enhanced Security Preparations

The meeting also decided to keep all security mechanisms on high alert, considering the potential for further floods and other disasters. This decision aims to ensure that the province remains prepared for any future emergencies.

Discussions in the meeting included running effective campaigns to address problems seen in the Nepal–India border area and control drug trafficking, indicating a broader focus on security issues beyond immediate flood relief efforts.
