Kathmandu— At least four Palestinians have been killed and several others injured in a series of Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip. The deadliest incident occurred Tuesday morning when at least three people, including two children, were killed by an Israeli drone strike in the al-Kateeba district west of Gaza City. In central Gaza, another attack killed at least one person.
Details of the Attacks
The medical source at al-Shifa Hospital reported that eight people were wounded alongside the three fatalities in the drone strike on Tuesday morning. Images shared online showed smoke rising and the sound of successive explosions from the attack. Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud, reporting from Gaza City, counted at least 13 drones in the area during the assault.
Witness Accounts
"For 35 minutes there were nonstop attacks involving drones, three of them hovering at a dangerously low level," said Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud. "Security personnel on the ground say they spotted a group of special forces who got into a direct exchange of fire. But the aerial coverage was so intense. The situation was very chaotic."
Israeli Military Response
The Israeli military stated that it struck several targets in Gaza, claiming these strikes were aimed at removing threats to its forces. According to reports from Palestinian news networks and Israeli television station Channel 12, explosions were heard across the Strip, with missiles and quadcopter drones used in the attacks.
