Kathmandu— Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Zhang Maoming met with Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane on September 1 in Kathmandu. The meeting, held at President Lamichhane's residence in Budhanilanthan, focused on the aftermath of the Bhotekoshi floods and China’s support for Nepal’s recovery efforts.
China's Support for Flood Recovery
Ambassador Zhang Maoming expressed grief over the damage caused by the Bhotekoshi floods. He assured that China stands ready to assist Nepal from search and rescue operations through reconstruction and rehabilitation. The ambassador highlighted that China has already provided necessary assistance, including rescue workers and DNA experts, immediately following the disaster.
Nepal's Gratitude and Future Cooperation
President Lamichhane expressed gratitude for China’s support during the flood recovery efforts. He emphasized the importance of China's economic and technical assistance in Nepal’s disaster risk reduction and management strategies. President Lamichhane urged for continued cooperation and further support from China.
