Prime Minister’s Relief Fund Receives Over Rs 6 Billion for Flood Victims

Kathmandu— The Prime Minister's Relief Fund in Nepal has received over Rs 6.36 billion for the victims of the August 26 Bhotekoshi flood, with funds deposited across nine commercial banks and two dollar accounts. Out of this amount, Rs 1 billion was released today to support affected areas, leaving a balance of Rs 5.36 billion in the fund.

Funds Distribution

The funds collected for the Prime Minister's Relief Fund are spread across nine different commercial banks and two dollar accounts maintained by Himalayan Bank and Laxmi Bank, totaling approximately USD 6.11 million.

International Support

Several countries and organizations have pledged financial aid to assist Nepal in managing the aftermath of the disaster and aiding recovery efforts. The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has been tracking these contributions through a 'Rescue Request Portal'.
