Kathmandu December 31 .Schools at the Nepalgunj sub-metropolis and Duduwa rural municipality in Banke have been closed for the next four days owing to increasing cold. The schools have been shut till January 3 as per the decision of the Education Committee under the local government. Adverse weather conditions coupled with cold wave have made life here tough, Nepalgunj municipal education committee chief Gorkha Bahadur Thapa said. Meanwhile, biting cold has hit poor, helpless and destitute the most and the local government has managed bonfire at different parts of the area. As said by sub metropolis information officer Sharad Poudel, arrangements have been made for the distribution of firewood through respective ward offices.
