Construction works are continued on three new concrete bridges on Rasuwa section of Galchhi-Mailung-Rasuwagadhi highway. The construction works are being carried out by following the policy and standards for prevention and control of COVID-19. Chief of Galchhi-Mailung Road Improvement Project, Narayan Datta Bhandari said a bridge each is being constructed at Khalte on the border between Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts, at Chipleti Puchhar near Mailung, at two places over the Trishuli river and over the Thadokhola stream at Gomchet area. Hindung and Thokkar Pvt Ltd is undertaking the bridge construction. Although heavy work is being done by using machinery and equipment, some 100 workers are employed for carrying out light works, the construction company has stated. All health safety standards are adopted and social distance is maintained while carrying out the works. Construction of a bridge over the Kolpukhola in Dhading and two bridges over the Gerkhukhola stream in Nuwakot has reached the final stages, according to the Project. Altogether 11 bridges have to be constructed on this international highway which is being developed as the main trade route with China.
