Kathmandu, June 2: The government has instructed hospitals to make public the details of treatment fees. The Ministry of Health and Population issued a notice on Tuesday instructing all government, private and community hospitals to make public the amount required for the treatment of patients within seven days.
Head of Quality Measurement and Regulation Division Dr.Madan Kumar Upadhyaya has issued statement and mentioned the type of service to be provided by his hospital and health institution and its cost amount within 7 days. Similarly, the details of the price list have been asked to be sent to the body permitting the operation of the health institution.
During the Coronavirus epidemic, patients were charged exorbitant fees for treatment, exorbitant oxygen charges, unnecessary tests, financial burdens, treatment supplies, and over-the-counter medications, the ministry said.
