Kathmandu June 2. A meeting of the Chief District Officers of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur on Wednesday extended the injunction till June 14.
The injunction was issued on April 30. The prohibition order was tightened from May 27.
It has been decided to allow the reopening of grocery stores and food department stores as well as book shops in the Kathmandu Valley.
Chief District Officer of Bhaktapur, Prem Prasad Bhattarai, said that the grocery and department stores will be allowed to open till 9 am.
Fruit and book shops will also be available till 9 am.
Development work can also be done in the midst of the ban. For that, construction materials will be tranported only at night.
“In the past, we closed grocery stores and food department stores,” Bhattarai said. “Now we have to understand that the ban has been relaxed.”
Identity cards of private associations, institutions, government and concerned bodies will be required for the work till June 14. A pass issued by the Chief District Officer will be required to drive in person if necessary.
