Trump Cancels Planned Attacks on Iran, Involves Israel in Negotiations

Kathmandu— US President Donald Trump has called off a planned attack on Iran after receiving urgent appeals from Middle Eastern countries. The decision hinges on Iran agreeing to rapidly negotiate an end to its nuclear threat and ensuring free passage through the Strait of Hormuz, with Israel joining the commitment.

Conditionality of Trump's Decision

Trump emphasized that his decision is conditional upon Iran making significant concessions. He stated that the United States would be prepared to launch military strikes at levels not seen since World War II but has agreed to a temporary ceasefire based on the promise of rapid negotiations leading to a binding agreement.

Iran's Stance and Regional Concerns

Hours before Trump’s announcement, Iran warned against any aggressive actions by the US. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi informed Pakistani and Turkish officials that Iran would respond decisively if attacked. This warning came amid rising tensions and concerns about regional stability.

Involvement of Israel

The inclusion of Israel in this commitment marks a significant diplomatic shift. The US is now considering the strategic implications of its military engagements, with General Alexus Grynkewich from US European Command cautioning that ongoing conflict with Iran strains American military resources.

While Trump's announcement offers a temporary reprieve from escalating tensions, the future stability in the region remains contingent on successful and rapid negotiations between the involved parties.
