Gandaki Province Legalizes Marijuana Farming for Medicinal and Industrial Use

Kathmandu— On Monday, Gandaki Province in Nepal officially legalized marijuana farming for medicinal and industrial purposes after the provincial assembly endorsed a related bill on Friday. The bill was initially returned by the province chief Dilli Raj Bhatta on July 24 but was revised and re-endorsed before being authenticated under Article 201 (4) of the constitution.

Bill Authentication Process

The bill, which aims to regulate marijuana farming for medicinal and industrial use, went through a rigorous authentication process. Initially returned by the province chief on July 24, it was revised and resubmitted to the provincial assembly. After thorough deliberation, the assembly endorsed the bill in its entirety on Friday. The final step involved the province chief’s authentication of the bill under Article 201 (4) of Nepal’s constitution.
