The minister's comments come amid ongoing legislative tensions over contentious bills such as the Women's Reservation Bill and the Delimitation Bill.

Minister Addresses Opposition Concerns

During a high-level consultation within Parliament, Rijiju met with Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi and senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi. The meeting lasted for approximately 50 minutes as Rijiju sought to understand the opposition's stance on the Delimitation Bill and related legislative frameworks. Despite these discussions, no agreement was reached regarding extending the session dates.

Prime Minister Engages with New MPs

Parallel to the political negotiations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted a breakfast meeting for around 37 newly elected and cross-over Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha MPs at his official residence. The informal interaction focused on parliamentary discipline, grassroots engagement, and personal experiences in public life.

With the government confirming that no special August window has been scheduled, attention remains focused on resolving procedural gridlocks during the remaining days of the regular monsoon session.
