AAP Chief Accuses Modi Government of Forcing Ethanol Report Withdrawal

Kathmandu— Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal accused the central government on Thursday of forcing the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) to withdraw a report questioning the quality of E20 petrol, alleging that it is under pressure from the United States.

Kejriwal's Accusations

In a post on X, Kejriwal said, "U forced SIAM to withdraw their report. Typical Modi style. Gundagardi." He further alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi does not respect science and only serves hidden agendas, adding that the government is under pressure from former US President Donald Trump to buy ethanol from the United States.

SIAM's Clarification

In response to Kejriwal’s claims, BJP leader Amit Malviya cited SIAM’s clarification on its report. SIAM had earlier taken note of certain media reports that selectively focused on chloride and sulphur content in fuel. The society clarified that the communication was part of routine technical deliberations and requested authentication through data collection from various regions across the country.
