Rasuwa Flood Cuts Off Nepal Border Outpost, APF Team Unreachable

ABC NEWS

Kathmandu— An Armed Police Force (APF) border outpost in Timure, Rasuwa district, remains secure following a significant flash flood in the Bhote Koshi River, though communication with the police team stationed there has been lost. The flooding occurred suddenly and is believed to have caused substantial damage in the surrounding area, prompting efforts to re-establish contact and assess the full extent of the situation.

Flood Impact and Initial Assessment

A large flood event impacted the Bhotekoshi River on Saturday, causing concern for infrastructure and personnel stationed along its banks. Authorities estimate significant damage in the Timure area due to the sudden surge of water.

The APF’s joint spokesperson, Shailendra Thapa, confirmed that while the border outpost itself appears structurally sound, attempts to reach the team currently on duty have been unsuccessful.

Communication Efforts Underway

Efforts are actively being made to re-establish contact with the police teams deployed in the affected region. According to spokesperson Thapa, authorities are working to understand the current situation and ascertain the well-being of personnel who may be impacted by the flooding.

Authorities continue their efforts to connect with the APF team and gather more information about the damage caused by the flood.
