Pezeshkian's Presidency

Masoud Pezeshkian was elected president on July 6, 2024, following the July 5 presidential election. He was formally appointed by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on July 28, 2024, and sworn in before the Iranian parliament on July 30. His assumption of office came after the death of former President Ebrahim Raeisi in a helicopter crash.
