Kathmandu— Nepal’s Prime Minister Balendra Shah is set to answer questions from Members of Parliament in the House of Representatives today, addressing concerns under established parliamentary rules. The session, scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM local time, will also include the presentation of the seventh annual report from the Muslim Commission for the fiscal year 2081-82 BS and the introduction of a long-term electricity trade agreement between Nepal and India.

Parliamentary Session Agenda

According to the Federal Parliament's Secretariat, today’s meeting will primarily focus on Prime Minister Shah responding to questions posed by MPs. This process is in line with Chapter-9 of the House of Representatives Rules, 2083 BS, outlining procedures for parliamentary questioning.

The agenda also includes the formal presentation of the seventh annual report from the Muslim Commission, covering the fiscal year 2081-82 BS. This report will be reviewed by members of parliament.

Nepal-India Energy Agreement

Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation, Biraj Bhakta Shrestha, is expected to introduce a long-term electricity trade agreement between Nepal and India during the session. The details of this agreement were not immediately available but signal continued cooperation on energy resources between the two nations.

Following the Prime Minister’s question period and report presentations, meetings of the Legislation Management Committee and Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee are also scheduled to take place.
