Kathmandu— The United States and Iran have exchanged new attacks, with Washington striking military targets along Iran’s southern coast and Tehran launching missile strikes at bases and assets in Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Iraq. The US Central Command confirmed the strikes on Iranian military sites, while Iran accused the US of bombing a wedding celebration near the Strait of Hormuz, killing at least four people.

US Strikes Details

The US Central Command said it struck dozens of military targets along Iran’s southern coast. According to Iranian officials and media reports, these strikes included locations in coastal cities such as Kuhestak, Konarak, Bandar Abbas, Jask, Asaluyeh, Qeshm Island, Ahvaz, and Aghajari. In total, at least 18 people have been killed across Iran.

Iranian Response

In retaliation for the US strikes, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched missile attacks on US bases and assets in Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Iraq’s Erbil. The IRGC claimed to have hit several key locations including Sheikh Isa Airbase in Bahrain, Prince Hassan airbase and a US Marine base in Jordan, and the headquarters of the American commander at Ali Al Salem airbase in Kuwait.

Political Statements

US President Donald Trump warned that Iran would be “totally wiped out” if it retaliates further. Iranian officials called for global action against the US strike on the wedding function, with Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesman for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, calling it a “brutal” attack and emphasizing that Iran will respond to these acts with firmness.
