Kathmandu— A massive flash flood struck the Rasuwa district of Nepal this morning, prompting the deployment of Nepali Army teams for search and rescue operations in Timure and Syanphrubesi. Two military helicopters have been dispatched to Trishuli to assist with the effort, while an emergency medical team has been sent to the local district hospital. Authorities are currently assessing the extent of the damage and warning residents along the Trishuli and Narayani River banks to remain vigilant.

Emergency Response Underway

The Nepali Army swiftly responded to the disaster, deploying rescue teams from Dhunche and Trishuli to the affected areas. Skilled personnel specializing in disaster management have also been mobilized from Brigade 6 headquarters in Gajuri. An emergency medical team was transported via MI-17 helicopter to Trishuli district hospital to provide support and assistance.

Traffic Disrupted

In response to the flooding, authorities have halted traffic heading towards Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Chitwan, and Dhading districts. Naresh Raj Subedi, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, stated that vehicles traveling through these areas have been stopped in Kathmandu as a safety precaution.

Details regarding the full extent of the damage caused by the flash flood are still being collected as rescue operations continue.
