Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund Sees Rising Donations for Flood Victims

Kathmandu— The Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund, set up to aid survivors of the August 26 Bhotekoshi flood in Nepal, continues to receive increasing financial contributions from both domestic and foreign donors. As of noon on August 31, a total of Rs 5.87 billion has been deposited into nine commercial bank accounts associated with the Prime Minister's Relief Fund, along with US $3.193 million in Himalayan Bank and Laxmi Bank.

Fund Details

The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers oversees the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund and provides updates through a 'Rescue Request Portal.' This portal makes public the amount received from various donors, both domestic and international. The funds are deposited into multiple commercial banks to ensure efficient distribution and management.
